Subsequent to a suggestion made by Ricki, the majority of us have agreed to make e a change in how we would like to celebrate our accomplishments at Let's Learn. As much as we enjoy celebrating by indulging in treats at class we think that it might be better (for our hips and society) if instead we do something for the less fortunate. We've come up with a way to do this that will benefit pets in need. We suggest that instead of purchasing snacks or sweets for your classmates, you instead use that money to make a donation to the Farley Foundation, which is administerd through the OVMA (Ontario Veterinary Medical Assoc.) . There will be a Farley donation box in the training hall and we encourage you to celebrate your accomplishment in this way, or by independently donating to the charity of you choice. The Farley
Foundation It's every pet owner's worst nightmare. A beloved pet needs veterinary care, but the owner can't afford treatment. For many seniors and people with disabilities, this scenario is a sad reality. That's where the Farley Foundation steps in. The Farley Foundation helps sick and injured pets that belong to low-income seniors and people with disabilities. Upon approval of submitted applications, the Foundation offers financial assistance to help cover the cost of providing necessary veterinary care for pets belonging to seniors receiving the Federal Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS) or people with disabilities who receive the Ontario Disability Support Payment (ODSP), and who cannot otherwise afford treatment for their pets. (More about the Farley Foundation can be found on the OVMA web site.) |
| OTChX The OTChX (Obedience trial champion excellent) is the title a dog can attain after the OTCh (obedience trial champion). It requires the team to pass in Open and Utility at the same trial, on 5 different occasions. Posted 05/06/08 |
MOTCh Points for this title may be accumulated simultaneously with credits toward the OTChX, however, the Masters title will not be awarded until completion of the OTChX. title. A minimum score of 190 in Open or 185 in Utility is needed to obtain points. One High In Class placement is required in either Open or Utility Class but no minimum score is required. A total of 40 points is required to earn a Masters title with a minimum of 15 points to be acquired in each of the Open and Utility classes, the remaining 10 points can be obtained from either class. (The point scale is in the CKC rule book and is based on the higher the score, the more points earned.) |
GMOTCh Points for this title may be earned after completion of the MOTCh. Dog and handler must achieve a minimum score of 195 points in both Open and Utility classes at the same trial at ten separate trials. The scores in open and utility must be earned under a minimum of ten different judges. A high in trial must be achieved in at least one open and one utility class. |
