| Next Session of Classes I am currently putting together a fall schedule. If you are currently in classes, please let me know ONLY if you need a different time(s). As you all know, I prefer to change the skill level of the classes rather than the times of the classes. If you have been away for the summer and want to return, or want to return after a break, please let me know which class(es) you would like to be in. Rally classes can be arranged if the need is there. I will also be offering a competitive puppy program on Mon. TBA. Thank you. Ricki Posted 08/25/08 |

| Belated North York Brag Sandy Brodie would like to share her good news; Golden Retriever Tory obtained his CD at NYOC trial in June with class placements for all 3 legs (including a first place). He is now Gowrielea's Notorious CD,RN. Congratulations Sandy and Brodie, well done! Posted 07/09/08 |
| Great Big Labrador Retriever Brag! Maryke Warwick reports good results in Quebec last weekend at the Labrador Retriever (CLQ and LRCC) Specialties. Here is her news: Brogan was in the WCI test on Friday, 4 obedience trials and conformation on Saturday and Sunday which also enabled him to compete in the Versatility Challenge. He passed the WCI test Friday and got his CD title in 3 trials with scores of 191, 182.5 & 191.5. In the 3rd trial he took 2nd place and also got high scoring Lab in trial. He is such a good boy and really enjoys working. Marie Babin showed him in conformation where he showed and moved well, had fun and ate lots of treats. He came first in the Gun Dog class and because he competed in all 3 events he won the Versatility Trophy. We weren't able to take the trophy home, so of course we took lots of pictures. We also had a picture taken by the show photographer, which should come in a couple of weeks. Brogan looked really good and it was worth the trip to Quebec. We had a great time and just might go the again. Maryke Posted 07/01/08 |

| North York Brag Ricki is happy to share her news, that at the North York Obedience trial last weekend Brady got the third leg of his MOTCh title. Way to go Team Brady! Posted 07/01/08 |
| Flyball Brag We met our final flyball goal last weekend by breaking the current record for Gordon Setters in Flyball. Winchester is currently the #1 Gordon in the North American Flyball League (Highest points ever earned by a Gordon), and this past weekend lost his "Master Excellent" title having earned the title "Master Champion" . No Gordon Setter in North America has ever held this title, he's the first. We're proud of this accomplishment and beeming over the fact that his name will remain forever on the Flyball stats because of this record. The little black and tan maniac and I thank you for letting us share this brag, Brenda Posted 06/27/08 |
| SWANSEA etc. Brag Big brag from Brenda and the Gordons - 4 titles in 2 weekends! A weekend ago both Winchester and Hannah earned their FDJ titles (Field Dog Jr.). Many thanks to Grannie Annie Harris who trained and handled them both! This past weekend at Swansea Winchester earned his CDX (thanks to Ricki's expert coaching); and in rally, he finished his RN and Hannah Q'ed in 2 Caro Advanced runs. Wow. Time for a summer break. (I've posted some proud mama pics on the Photo Gallery page.) Posted 06/05/08 |
| Advice You may have noticed hydro work being done on Aurora Road. Because of this, the police are now tucking themselves onto the side of the road, montitoring speeds. So a bit of advice, on your way to and from the school be careful and stay within the speed limit. If you choose to ignore this advise, when you meet PC Cairnes, tell him Brenda says "hey". | Brady's Weekend At the Peterborough trial last weekend, Brady earned his 2nd OTCHX/MOTCH leg! Way to go Brady & Ricki!!! Since Brady & Ricki are going to be working at these titles for the next few months I thought it would be nice to understand the goals in order to follow the progress. In consideration of those of you who haven't yet looked that far ahead, I've inserted a chart below showing the requirements necessary to achieve these very difficult obedience titles. Here is what they have attained to date: Brady now has 15 points in utility, 10 more in utility (which goes toward the extra 10 needed from either class) a first in Utility, and 2 OTCHX legs. He now only needs points in Open and 3 more OTCHX legs. (Note - if you do not pass both Open and Utility at the same trial, you don't get a leg, however you do earn points from the passed leg.) It's going to be fun watching this team work their way through this, and boy, is Gucci ever going to have big paw prints to follow Posted 05/06/08 |
| OTChX The OTChX (Obedience trial champion excellent) is the title a dog can attain after the OTCh (obedience trial champion). It requires the team to pass in Open and Utility at the same trial, on 5 different occasions. Posted 05/06/08 |
MOTCh Points for this title may be accumulated simultaneously with credits toward the OTChX, however, the Masters title will not be awarded until completion of the OTChX. title. A minimum score of 190 in Open or 185 in Utility is needed to obtain points. One High In Class placement is required in either Open or Utility Class but no minimum score is required. A total of 40 points is required to earn a Masters title with a minimum of 15 points to be acquired in each of the Open and Utility classes, the remaining 10 points can be obtained from either class. (The point scale is in the CKC rule book and is based on the higher the score, the more points earned.) |
GMOTCh Points for this title may be earned after completion of the MOTCh. Dog and handler must achieve a minimum score of 195 points in both Open and Utility classes at the same trial at ten separate trials. The scores in open and utility must be earned under a minimum of ten different judges. A high in trial must be achieved in at least one open and one utility class. |
| Jennifer Abramson is proud to announce that she and her Golden Retriever Seamus qualified at the St. Catherine's show, earning a CD title and fourth place rosette! Take a look at the photo gallery page for the CD pic submitted - Seamus looks absolutely stunning - beauty and brains! Congratulations Jennifer and Seamus, well done. Posted 05/04/08 |
| I've just finished updating the new Class Schedule, and want to draw your attention to some structure changes Ricki has made. Changes include both class and session length structure and are noted at the top of the Classes offered page (in the black area, with a "new" gif highlighting it). Thanks, Brenda Posted 05/02/08 |
